ART Space in the heart of Antwerp
Well: we think that there is no objective criterion to qualify something as 'artistic'. Nor that 'artistic' is an intrinsic quality as waves of semantic layers emerge through context and are not inherently present in the art object itself. Yes, yes ... Duchamp and all that jazz. So, in space60 we present what resonates with something of ourselves: heart, soul, mind, guts or other. Therefore, what we present can be figurative or abstract, conceptual or obvious, hilarious or deadly serious, intimate or overt, cubist or hyperrealist, holy or worldly, implicit or explicit, black and white or colorful, recorded or live, imploding or exploding, loud or silent, small or large, mono or multi, alive or dead, early or contemporary, perfect or broken, wet or dry, palpable or immaterial, now or never, healthy or lethal, here or there, edible or poisonous, dissonant or consonant, solid or liquid .... and preferably all that at the same time. Or not. Because a human being is many animals. Our aspiration is that it might also resonate with something in you. Or not. Give it a try.
